Efficiency vs Qigong. physiotherapy to improve the quality of life of patients with fibromyalgia – University of Extremadura

Clinical trial 141 women diagnosed with fibromyalgia after approval by the Ethics Committee of the University of Extremadura, assessing the effectiveness of physiotherapy and Qigong in improving the quality of life of these patients for four weeks. The sample was randomly distributed into three groups: control group, who does not undergo any experimental treatment, and two intervention groups: one of physiotherapy and other Qigong. The results obtained were favorable for the intervention groups versus the control group in the improved balance (p= 0,044); balance muscular (p≤ 0,05); values espirométricos (p≤ 0,05) and quality of life of patients (p=0,007). Our results speak for saying that physiotherapy and Qigong are two effective techniques for improving the symptoms of patients with fibromyalgia.
